With all my very best wishes for 2025, I am pleased to share my simple reflection questions to help you move gently into the new year with wisdom and intention.
And a few thoughts on when is the right time to fill this in:
Spoiler - it’s any time that works for you!
It could be today, 1 January 2025
It might be later this week when you feel more rested, when you have more time to mull over the questions perhaps sitting in your garden, or a cafe, or take a walk in nature pausing to think about each prompt one at a time.
It might be even later, and as I said it can be any day but in case you like having a specific date in mind, here are a few suggestions:
January 6th, or Epiphany, is the official end of Christmas falling directly after 12th night. It’s a good time to close off 2024 and turn your thoughts to 2025.
My favourite day to fill it in in February would be February 2nd, or Candlemas, which falls 40 days after Christmas and is around the time we start to notice snowdrops beginning to bloom.
In the northern hemisphere we in the midwinter, a time of rest and retreat. Perhaps spring is a more appropriate time for new plans and fresh starts, in which case 1 March or 21 March could also be good days for this reflection.
Last year I was feeling a little tired as the new year arrived, and allowed myself to take a few months to slowly refine my ideas for the year, waiting for the dawn of Spring before I started working wholeheartedly on them. It was so interesting for me to notice this, as I had previously been a vigorous new year goal setter.
This year I am greeting the new year with a good level of energy and anticipation, whilst remaining mindful of my need for more rest and sleep until the longer days start to return.
Wherever the dawn of 2025 finds you, I wish you all the very best for this year.
